Sucker-Punch Hug-A-Lug

Review by Willard Manus

The comedy troupe Gas Money has put together an evening of sketches and music that makes for enjoyable entertainment. SUCKER-PUNCH HUG-A-LUG offers eleven skits, plus a couple of songs by Andrew Samples, all of which are delivered by a sprightly young cast (Sara Cravens, Fortune Feimster, Teddy Goldsmith, Sirena Irwin and Justin Martindale). Working from original material, they poke fun at such deserving targets as Trader Joe, TV news anchors, New Age funerals, high-school lunchrooms, lesbian love and the perils of buying a used car. One of the highpoints was when Cravens imitated a ditzy MTV reporter trying oh-so-hard to interview Barack Obama.
